Le Mans Ultimate is the official driving game of the FIA World Endurance Championship, but it doesn’t quite (yet) feature all the up-to-date cars and tracks.
Bit-by-bit, this is changing – on the 24th September the second paid-for DLC pack will arrive, adding Circuit of the Americas plus completing the Hypercar class with the LMH Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6-C and LMDh Alpine A424.
A game update will also arrive at the same time, allowing drivers to segment the 2023 and 2024 season, but with one glaring snag: the 2024 season option will continue to use the defunct GTE category.
This is because LMU is missing GT3 (or LMGT3, strictly speaking) cars. Not a single one.
During a recent development update showcase, two of the newer models were teased.
Work-in-progress versions of both the Ferrari 296 GT3 (LMGT3 – main image) and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R (LMGT3) were briefly shown.
This follows the same teaser process of the aforementioned Alpine A424, for instance.
Every LMGT3 on the 2024 grid will be replicated eventually, meaning nine unique models plus matching liveries.
Two will be free, trying to avoid segmenting the Racing Control multiplayer daily races. The entry-level series being entirely behind a paywall may not go down too well…
The remaining seven will be split across two paid-for DLC packs, which round out the ‘2024 season pass – one is expected at the end of this year, the second early next.
The Season Pass costs $48.99 / €35.99 / £39.99. The final pricing for the last two DLC packs is yet to be confirmed. Neither, perhaps unsurprisingly, is which two will be free.
