Thrustmaster’s modular Raceline Pedals are the start of something new
The preeminent racing game and sim racing equipment manufacturer will introduce an all-new pedal line-up, starting from below €100. It also marks the start of 'a new era'.
Thrustmaster has unveiled a new range of sim racing pedals. Raceline will consist of three main versions, plus upgrade options.
While not direct replacements, it is expected they will eventually usurp the existing T3PM and T-LCM models in the range.
The lineup begins with the Raceline Pedals LTE as an introductory model. It features a mostly metal construction, including a metal baseplate, and a two-pedal non-load cell setup.
At a later date, an optional Upgrade Kit will be made available that includes a larger base plate, metal pedal face plates and a load cell brake pedal. In this instance, the non-load cell brake pedal from the LTE set is then related to clutch use.
Alternatively, a Raceline Pedals 3 bundle will include three pedals from the off, non-load cell. Then, at the top of the range will sit the Raceline Pedals 3LC, which is the three-pedal set and the load cell brake pedal.
All variants with arrive with two different pedal springs in the box, soft and hard. In our hands-on test, these can be replaced easily with just one hand and no tools. The pedals have three pre-defined adjustment slots to tweak the amount of input pressure required.
Under the base plate, for those not able to mount the pedals to a rig or cockpit, are rubber inserts to prevent movement on wooden floors. Also bundled will be grips for carpet surfaces.
Hands-on impressions
In our brief test with the initial LTE two pedal set (which you can watch embedded above or on YouTube), the metal construction and build quality are a dramatic step forward over the company’s existing offerings. While in the non-load cell variant, there was at least some firmness to the brake pedal.
The Raceline Pedals will begin to hit the market later this year with the LTE variants for ‘under €100’ according to a Thrustmaster spokesperson. The load cell upgrade and three-pedal sets are expected in 2025.
