F1 Manager 2024’s ‘Mentality System’ set to shake up staff relationships
Frontier Development’s F1 Manager 2024 continues gearing up for release with another Feature Focus, this time focusing on the game’s ‘Mentality System’ and how it affects your staff’s performance – including your drivers.
In the game’s Mentality Hub’, players will be able to see how their drivers and key staff members feel about their personal situation, the team’s performance and – most worrying of all – you. Keeping your staff happy in all three criteria will be key to getting the best from them and achieving good results on-track.
In a slight departure from the largely ephemeral ‘driver confidence’ stat of F1 Manager 2023, this year’s game appears to delve much deeper into the psyches of those who work in Formula 1, with the key areas outlined below.
Personal Situation
Factors influencing a driver’s personal situation include their salary, bonuses and relative performance against their team-mates. Being ousted at the end of the season will also affect their mentality, with Carlos Sainz’s real-world situation – being replaced by Lewis Hamilton for 2025 – set to be replicated in-game.
Team Performance
Staff mentality can be affected by your team’s performance. If your team is struggling at the back of the grid then expect this to majorly affect your employees’ mood, with your overall position in the constructors’ championship a key influencer.
