The F1 in Schools competition returns for a fifth season, with students from around the world trying to create the best small-scale single-seater and develop Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills along the way.
The aim is to place important skills-building within an engaging competition, with the final challenge to race down a 20-metre track at speeds up to 75 km/h.
Much like the 2022 competition, F1 Manager will once again be supporting the campaign and will even update the game to allow players to send staff to F1 in Schools events in-game via interactive emails.
Alongside the main team-based challenge to create a miniature Formula 1 car, F1 Manager 2023 will also support the new-for-2023 Nose Cone Challenge. This is an award for the team that develops a car with a nose that can be dismantled and replaced in the shortest time.
“We’re very excited to be continuing our partnership with Frontier Developments for a second year,” said Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman, F1 in Schools.
“As is the case in the game, our teams must assign roles and develop their own car design. We find teams can go in very different directions and make varying decisions along the way, as the players will be at the helm of their virtual F1 team.”
“F1 Manager 2023 is all about putting the player in the role of the Team Principal, where much of the team they lead is made up of STEM roles which are vital to on-track performance,” said Marilena Papacosta, Director of Brand Marketing, Frontier Developments.
“We are proud to continue our support of F1 in Schools and the STEM opportunities it creates worldwide, and we look forward to celebrating every team taking part.”
The Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals 2023 will be held in Singapore, 10th-13th September, following a series of regional finals. It will feature 68 teams comprising over 400 students from 26 countries. Last year, Australian team Hydron was victorious.
