What are car-specific parts in Gran Turismo 7?
The car-specific parts in Gran Turismo 7 are prize parts which you can win through gameplay via the Daily Workout Roulettes and, as the name suggests, are specific to certain cars.
What you receive is random, and alongside regular items, could include several possible special upgrades known as ‘S Parts’.
Generally, though, they will be regular parts that you could buy yourself, only you receive them for free. That is a bonus that I’ll take…
What are S Parts in Gran Turismo 7?
S Parts, or Special Parts, are car upgrades that are not purchasable from the regular Tuning Shop and can only be acquired via the Daily Workout Roulettes within Gran Turismo 7.
These include such things as Ultra-High-RPM Turbochargers, Stage 5 weight reduction or Carbon Propeller Shafts amongst many others.
How to earn car-specific parts and S Parts
The only way at present to acquire these in Gran Turismo 7 is through roulette tickets. These can be won by doing the daily workout where you drive 26.219 miles, and you are rewarded with a random ticket that can be up to six stars. The more stars the better the prize you can get from that ticket.
Some of the prizes are in-game cash, others whole cars or engines, maybe even a purchase invite and finally, just car parts.
You can also find tickets from doing some of the Café Menu Books and many of these can be parts-specific tickets where you will only receive a random part as a prize, but these are relatively rare.
Where are earned car parts stored?
The parts that you earn are stored inside your Garage within Gran Turismo 7 and can be found in the Tuning Parts section.
Here you will find all the parts that you own but are yet to install on a car. They are located below the ‘engines’ section so scroll down if they are not immediately obvious.
As with the engines, these parts do have a recommended retail value but at present there is no way to sell them. Strange. Hopefully, this is a feature that will come in a future update. If the part is one of the elusive Special parts then its value will simply show as “Not for sale”.
How to install Car-Specific Parts?
It’s a smoother system than engine swaps, inasmuch as what you will see on the Tuning Parts page is a list of cars that you have parts for.
The game also rather helpfully tells you if you already own that car or not by stating ‘Collected’ or ‘Not owned’ in the tile. Neat. If you select the tile, it will show you which parts you have for that car.
Where it is not that helpful, though, is having to then select the car you wish to install parts on from your garage and then come back to this screen to swap them.
The car you are currently in should be the first option on the screen and will have a key symbol in the tile. Select it and choose the part you want to install and it will be applied to your car.
What’s frustrating is that in the regular Tuning Shop, where you purchase items, it doesn’t tell you if you already have one sat in the Tuning Parts section that you could install for free. It can pay to check there before upgrading a car you’ve just purchased to avoid wasting previous credits.
