Michi Hoyer extends contract with Burst Esport for 2023

One of the top esports drivers out there is locked in for another year of racing with one of the top esports racing teams. Michi Hoyer announced on Friday that he has extended his contract with Burst Esport for the 2023 season.

This all comes just in time for the start of the 2023 racing season, which kicks off with the conclusion of the 2022 Le Mans Virtual Series season, a 24 hour endurance at Circuit de la Sarthe on the 14th to the 15th of January.

“I am delighted to extend the contract with Burst,” Michi told Traxion.GG. “Having joined the team in late 2019, this is the fourth season I am going into with them.

“I am extremely happy for being with them as they give me the environment that I need in order to perform well within the strongest grids in the sim racing esports on rFactor 2. I am looking forward on working with the guys for another year.”

We of course know Michi from his countless hours of streaming on the Traxion Stream Team on Tuesdays, when that was a thing, and he’s one of the more popular sim racing streamers with broadcasts and other content on his Twitch and YouTube pages.

Michi is slated to run for Burst Esport in the #444 Nextview Vanwall-Burst LMP2 alongside Josh Skelton, Jonny Edgar and Dawid Mroczek, the same team that he’s been a part of for the entirety of the LMVS season. The #444 sits eighth in the points with an longshot chance at the overall title if they win the race.

Michi’s main area of expertise comes on the rFactor 2 platform, the same one utilized in the Le Mans Virtual Series. The Formula Pro series also uses rFactor 2 and Michi also competed there, finishing 10th overall with he and Jernej Simončič taking the Burst Esport name to third overall in the Constructors.

Simončič was also re-signed to Burst Esport just last September to a multi-year contract with the team following the #4 Floyd Vanwall-Burst LMP2’s incredible victory at Bahrain in the Le Mans Virtual Series.

You can watch Michi, Burst Esport, and the other 44 teams of four drivers take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual next weekend here on the Traxion.GG YouTube and Twitch channels. Congratulations again to Michi and Burst on their continued partnership!
