Celebrating 100 years of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza venue and 75 years of Modena-based company, the Ferrari Formula 1 team will add a splash of yellow to its livery design for the Italian Grand Prix – and players will be able to race it within the F1 22 game too.
The design incorporates the yellow colour adoring the Ferrari logo, entitled Giallo Modena, on the F1-75’s engine cover, alongside the ‘F lunga’ branding across the rear wing.
The fresh look will be used by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in the real world this coming weekend. In the game, it will be added as a free addition for one month starting 12th September across PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
Alongside the car’s design, the drivers will wear yellow race suits and helmets during the upcoming race weekend, and these items will also feature virtually alongside updated pitcrew uniforms.
“We are thrilled to accompany Ferrari during this special moment and bring this iconic new image they developed to F1 22,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters.
“Our studio prides itself on creating authentic racing experiences, and these touches reinforce how closely the game is embedded into the world of Formula 1.”
This follows a similar activation for last season’s F1 2021 game, where Red Bull Racing’s Honda tribute design used at the Turkish Grand Prix was added for a limited period. Several months later it reappeared in-game again, this time permanently.
