  • RaceRoom teases historic Mini and Abarth cars set to join NSU TTS in new historic class
  • Further reveals to come later this week in Grid Talk episode and at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt

RaceRoom has released a teaser image that appears to show a classic Mini Cooper and a Fiat Abarth 695 Esse Esse.

We only see a brief glimpse of both cars, but their unmistakable profiles are clear, and both are set to appear in the same class as RaceRoom’s incumbent NSU TTS, a move developer KW Studios had telegraphed.

“The NSU TT is a small race car, very popular in RaceRoom, but it is a stand-alone car,” stated Director of Strategy and Sales, Christian Baur, back in July.

“We are working on two little ‘brothers’ for this car so it’s not alone. In the near future, we will be able to create a car class around the NSU TT,” he continued.

The Mini is a petite British motoring icon, with its front-wheel-drive, nose-heavy balance helping it become a giant-killing motorsport icon. Likewise, the Abarth punched well above its weight in racing, with a unique rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout that offered vastly different handling characteristics, especially since the engine cover had to stay open for cooling.

More cars, including new Super Tourers, LMP2, LMP3 and a French ‘Cup car ’, have also been teased alongside the German hillclimb venue Glasbachrennen and all may appear later this week in a Grid Talk podcast episode slated for the 16th of October.

A further showcase will take place at SimRacing Expo on the 17th of October, with tickets still available for the Frankfurt-based exhibition.
