An emotional victory was secured by Daniel Solis for Subaru at the third round of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Singapore.

The American driver secured pole position in the top-six session and led the Autodrome Lago Maggiore (reverse) race from the first lap until the chequered flag.

However, it wasn’t straightforward for the Gran Turismo 7 competitors. Ferrari’s Nicolás Arriagada ran close behind the BRZ in the early stages, and then at the midpoint, opted for an alternative tyre strategy to the leader.

This left the 296 GT3 on the soft compound rubber for the final stint, compared to the hard option selected by Solis. The Ferrari was quicker, but started the final laps over 10 seconds behind.

On the final tour, the gap had closed to under one second, before the Subaru driver ran wide on the penultimate turn. This allowed Arriagada the close in and slipstream to the finish line, ending up just 0.1s behind.

Elsewhere, championship leaders Porsche looked to have fought through the pack for fourth, only for Audi’s Simon Rosenberger to pass Angel Inostroza on the penultimate lap.

Mazda’s Samuel Cardinal finished in a solid third.

For Solis, while he has been part of a title-winning team before, this was his first race win in the competition. The American showed an outpoor of emotion after the race, collapsing in euphoria on stage.

During this race, it was confirmed that Thrustmaster has returned as a Gran Turismo World Series partner and has launched a new TGT III wheel bundle.

The Manufacturers Cup will be concluded in December, at a Tokyo-based World Finals event.
