American Truck Simulator developer SCS Software has revealed that its recently released Ford Car Pack DLC has helped elevate the game’s player numbers to record new levels.

The new content added the 1967 Mustang Fastback, the 2023 F-150, the 2023 Bronco, and the 1998–2012 Crown Victoria to ATS, along with the new Road Trip game mode, which added several car-specific features, including the Atlas discovery mechanic and courier missions.

On the back of its release, SCS reported 20,341 concurrent players on Steam – the highest ever seen in ATS. That figure later rose to 21,318, beating the old record set close to the game’s initial launch in 2016.

Road Trip mode’s car roster will be expanded in the future by the RAM & Dodge Car Pack DLC, with more manufacturers likely to be announced. ATS’s sister title, Euro Truck Simulator 2, is also set to have a new game mode of its own, Coaches, where players take control of buses.

The new mode is expected to release before the end of the year, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S ports of both games are expected in 2027 at the earliest.
