After an extraordinarily busy week for developer Genki, it has released both an update and new DLC for Tokyo Xtreme Racer.
The DLC is, as expected, based on a collaboration with diecast model maker MINI GT, and includes four new rival cars for players to take on and beat in the game’s suitably retro-inspired career mode.
These include the Honda Civic Type R (FL5) 2022, Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80) 1997, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (BRN34) and Datsun Sunny Truck MINI GT RS-02X “Kagami”. A further teased car, the Datsun Sunny Truck 1200 Long Body Deluxe (GB121) ’79, doesn’t appear to be part of the DLC, however.
The best part is that the ‘Guest Rival Vol. 3’ DLC is free to download now, but only for a limited period, with Genki offering no specific timeframe.
Alongside the DLC, a new game update has been released, bringing TXR up to V1.6.0. Fixes include minor car model improvements and minor UI problems, with the full changelog listed at the bottom of this article.
Genki also revealed earlier today that it plans to release paid DLC packs for its popular PC and PlayStation 5 game, while ruling out Xbox and Switch ports in the short term.
