- RaceRoom’s licensing agreement with Ferrari has ended
- Players who purchased Ferrari content previously can still access and keep it
- KW Studios hopes to regain the Ferrari licence in future
After an eagle-eyed fan spotted the lack of Ferrari representation in RaceRoom’s official shop over the weekend, speculation arose concerning the licensing situation surrounding the Prancing Horse.
Sadly, it was confirmed during episode 8 of Grid Talk that the agreement between RaceRoom and Ferrari has expired, and no Ferrari vehicles are available to purchase for the sim.
The licence agreement first bore fruit in January 2022, with the 488 GT3 Evo unveiled as part of the 2021 DTM Car Pack, which was released two months later. The arrangement also saw the 296 GT3 released later.
“Ferrari is gone, it’s not in the shop any more,” stated RaceRoom’s Director of Strategy and Sales Christian Wacker-Baur. “Yes, the licence expired, we try to renew it, but I can’t promise that we [will] get it done,” he concluded.
