Traxion’s John Munro is livestreaming on our YouTube channel the 0.5 update for Assetto Corsa EVO.
Seven new cars, two new tracks, free camera, penalty system and the removal of ‘career’ are the main talking points. John will be testing each car to analyse their authenticity, plus see if fundamental elements have taken a step forward.

- previous Career mode purchased cars should now show up under “My Cars” in Open Mode
- gain-based track cut logic:
- when cutting, there’s a gain evaluation, if there is no gain, there is no warning, if there is a gain, the player has 500 metres to give up the gain, if this fails, the player is given a warning/time penalty/DT/SG/DSQ depending on the severity of the remaining unserved time gain, a widget helps the player determine whether time is being given up or not
- fixed crash when restarting certain special events
- next step of SimGrid daily racing: car selection is now based on mechanical variants, customized player cars are also checked for eligibility
- in place of the previous direct join, the connection flow has been shifted back to the ingame server browser so that players can choose their preferred visual configuration or livery

- fix for ability to start and finish timed lap in session overtime
