The resurgent WRC games series, currently developed by Kylotonn, will be arrived on popular PC-platform Steam later this year.
WRC 9, which we think is one of the best rally games ever made, will release via Steam on 16th September 2021. This comes a year since it was available on PC via the Epic Games Store and follows a recent release on Nintendo Switch.
This is slightly strange timing, as tomorrow, 13th April 2021, WRC 10 will be revealed. Still, if you wanted to play WRC 9 on PC and only purchase on Steam, your wish is now publisher Nacon’s command.
In the meantime, several stats have been released about the game after it reached the overall top ten in March sales on the PlayStation Store, which is no mean feat.
In the sixth months since release, over 33 million stages have been completed with an average of 207,000 per day. The most completed in 24 hours so far was on 27th December, with 328,910 stages completed while many of us had time off work, but not much to do during lockdown restrictions!
The most popular rally has been Finland – which had some rather enjoyable new stages added post-release via a free update – and the Toyota Yaris WRC is the most-loved car.
We’ll see you tomorrow after we’ve had our first look at WRC 10 and let us know via social media if you’ve dipped into WRC 9 of late.
