A host of updates and changes are on the way to the online formula-style league racing game iGP Manager.
The free-to-play title is available on internet browsers, iOS and Android and allows players to join leagues and compete in real-time online multiplayer races – competitors aiming to select the right race strategy and rise up their respective rankings.
Back in 2021, the game created by Jack Basford, received an option of viewing races in 3D for the first time.
Now, further significant changes are expected.
Acceleration, braking, downforce and handling tweaks have been implemented this week, alongside revised balancing of research with higher-level managers benefiting more.
Next, a new 2024-specification car will be launched (teased in the featured article image). Originally set for a 2023 release, this is now expected ‘soon’.
Behind the scenes – sounding remarkably similar to the story of stunt-based racer Distance – updates to newer versions of game engine Unity have been taking place, and a stability update for mobile app users is also expected soon.
Then, scheduled for September, new servers will be switched on. Further, gameplay ‘overhauls’ and bug fixes are on the roadmap once the aforementioned updates have been rolled out.
Potential investors were recently courted, cited as one of the reasons for slower than anticipated progress of late.
“We also have more in the pipeline but I think it’s important for us to deliver these updates to you before anything else,” said Bashford via a recent development update blog.
“Thank you for sticking with us as we’ve worked through these challenges behind the scenes. We’re excited to bring these updates and continue this journey together.”
