Motorsport Games’ latest Earnings Call saw CEO Stephen Hood provide an early insight into Le Mans Ultimate’s DLC sales performance.

During the Q2 2024 report, Hood enthused about the proportion of LMU players who have so far purchased the Early Access sim’s ‘Tifosi Italia’ DLC pack (containing Imola and the Peugeot 9X8 2024 and Lamborghini SC63 Hypercars) alongside the full ‘Season Pass’, which is set to incorporate every car and track from the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.

“Despite Le Mans Ultimate still operating within this early access phase, the uptake for this new content has been encouraging,” stated Hood.

“In terms of the overall sales of this DLC content, I’m happy to report that already around 13% of Le Mans Ultimate users have purchased this content, once again, underlining the community sentiment surrounding the product. All of this has been achieved with no paid marketing budget,” he continued.

“We had anticipated the Season Pass to account for five to 10% of purchases, whereas, in reality, as of today, it counts for around 46% of purchases.”

This last statistic highlights that of the 13% of total LMU players who have purchased one form of DLC since July, nearly half have opted for the more expensive, £39.99 GBP / €46.99 / $49.99 USD Season Pass.

The Season Pass consists of four individual content packs of varying sizes, which will eventually include the entire GT3 grid, the Alpine and Isotta Fraschini Hypercars and the remaining WEC tracks.

The Season Pass is said to represent a discount of around 25% over buying each pack separately, although final pricing details of the remaining items have yet to be announced.

Le Mans Ultimate: subscriptions coming soon

A Le Mans Ultimate subscription-based service was also mooted by Hood during the Q2 2024 Earnings Call, in addition to the DLC procalmations:

“We are now not far from bringing this [subscription services] online,” stated Hood. “With this, we will be looking to add new and innovative features to the title [and it] will not be mandatory for our players,” he continued.

Quite what an LMU subscription will feature is yet to be revealed but with the Early Access version of the game and its DLC packs proving to be a modest success Hood has told fans to expect more news “shortly.”

This update arrives off the back of plans to accelerate the development of a potential console version of LMU, despite the game lacking single-player season modes, VR compatibility and its much-vaunted asynchronous multiplayer in its current guise.
