You can help shape GTR Revival’s car list

Classic BTCC cars or ’70s World Sportscars, you decide. The GTR Revival development team Straight4 Studios is looking for your input.

You can help shape GTR Revival's car list

Straight4 Studios’ upcoming sim racing title, GTR Revival, continues on its development path, with the nascent team asking for feedback about its car roster.

GTR Revival, Straight4 Studios, car wishlist

The start-up founded by former Slightly Mad Studios chief Ian Bell, is working on a spiritual successor to the garlanded GTR simulators of the ’00s. It’s currently running a poll to decide which series fans would like to see in a driving platform, with the following four options:

  • British Touring Cars – late1990s
  • Historic Trans Am (1969-1971)
  • Can-Am (1970-1972)
  • World Sportscars (1973)

I’d like to see all four please – but that’s perhaps understandably not an option. There’s no guarantee at this early stage that the top two will make it, as the intricacies of vehicle licencing could always throw a spanner in the works.

Still, at least it means Straight4 is listening and engaging with its burgeoning community. In other news, Tim Wheatley, founder of RaceSimCentral, has joined the project as Head of Licensing and Community Management.

The title is set to be built on Unreal Engine 5 for both PC and console, with the aim of being “hardcore, balls to the wall, no compromise.”
