One of our favourite current rally games, Kylotonn’s WRC 9, is coming to Nintendo Switch, and rather soon too.
WRC 9 will be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop on 11th March 2021 in Europe and America, with a physical version available the following month – 8th April in Europe and 13th April in the USA.
The game originally released on PS4, Xbox One and PC in September of 2020, followed by superb next-gen upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X in November. Six months later, fans of WRC will now be able to get their rally kicks on the go.
There are no in-game images or footage available as yet, but what we do know is that the Switch version will include a career mode, online clubs and over 100 stages. The initial reveal details ‘three new rallies’. Based on the home-console and PC versions, these will be Kenya, Japan and New Zealand.
On Switch, the game will feature the 2020 WRC season, which is mildly unfortunate timing as the 2021 WRC season in real life has already completed two events. Daily online challenges will be available via a post-launch update.
That’s it for now. As fans of the vastly improved handling – especially with a wheel peripheral – in WRC 9, we’ll be keeping a close eye at this as it nears release. Stay tuned in to Traxion as we’ll have more soon.
