Is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?

Forza Horizon 6 is set to release on PC and Xbox Series X|S in May, but what about PS5?

Is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?

Once an Xbox and PC exclusive, Forza Horizon 5 made its way onto PlayStation 5 in 2025. It’s been a considerable success for Sony and Microsoft, reportedly selling over five million units in less than a year. With that in mind, is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5 too?

Forza Horizon 6 was officially announced at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2025, confirming that the open-world racer will be set in Japan, one of the most frequently requested locations.

Playground Games says players will “discover a scenic and breathtaking Japan” and ”build up your racing status to become a Legend at the Horizon Festival,” with confirmed locations including Tokyo and Mount Fuji.

While a release date is unconfirmed, Forza Horizon 6 will launch first on PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. It will also be included on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch.

Playground Games confirm Forza Horizon 6 will come to PS5 “later this year”

PlayStation players will have to wait longer for the open-world racer, but the good news is that Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5. It’s a matter of when, not if.

During Microsoft’s Xbox Developer_Direct Show, Playground Games confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S on 19th May, with a PS5 release set to follow later in 2026.

“If you’re a Forza fan on PlayStation, we’ll be welcoming you to Japan later this year when our PlayStation version is ready,” said Design Director, Toben Ellert.

Forza Horizon 6 doesn’t have a specific release date for PS5 yet. But PlayStation players can at least be assured they won’t miss out on one of this generation’s most eagerly anticipated racing games.

Given the monumental success of Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 port, it would make sense for the sequel to launch on PS5 sooner rather than later to capitalise on its larger player base. Ideally, it will hopefully launch before Grand Theft Auto VI dominates the gaming landscape in November.

Forza Horizon 6 Standard, Deluxe and Premium Editions explained

Forza Horizon’s surprise move to PlayStation marks a shift in Xbox’s strategy, with the company becoming a third-party publisher. It’s not the only Xbox Game Studios title to come to PlayStation either, with Gears of War: Reloaded and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 also releasing on PS5.

Forza Horizon 6 will launch with over 550 cars, customisable garages and a new wristband progression system harking back to the original game.
