Widespread BoP adjustments nerf BMW LMGT3 and Alpine A424 in new Le Mans Ultimate update

A new update for Le Mans Ultimate has adjusted the Balance of Performance of many of the game’s LMGT3s and Hypercars, including significant hits to the BMW M4 LMGT3 and Alpine A424 Hypercar.

The second patch after Le Mans Ultimate’s Update 4, which introduced three new LMGT3 cars to the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship, was released today (20th March 2025).

The patch addresses several new bugs, including HUD adjustments and track-specific fixes, but the main thrust of the update is the revised Balance of Performance calculations for the game’s car roster.

Hypercar BoP adjustments

The FIA and Automobile Club de l’Ouest decide on every real-world vehicle’s Balance of Performance in WEC – and therefore LMU – to help ensure a level playing field among the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.

The BoP allows the FIA and ACO to adjust power, weight and aero drag figures for all Hypercars, but full details of each car’s BoP are never revealed.

However, LMU’s BoP adjustments can be published, with the Alpine, Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW, Cadillac and Peugeot (2023) Hypercars all receiving some attention from Studio 397 and Motorsport Games.

The Alpine A424 has been given the biggest nerf overall among the Hypercars, receiving a 20 Kg weight penalty across all of LMU’s tracks, while the Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW and Cadillac have been given power breaks of 5 kW at Le Mans’ Circuit de la Sarthe and its No Chicane layouts.

The Lamborghini has also been hit with an 18 Kg ballast increase at the same track, with 20 Kg added for every other circuit, with the Cadillac facing the same restrictions. The Porsche has been encumbered by a 10 Kg increase for all tracks, with a 3 kW hit to its overall power everywhere except Le Mans, where it loses 5 kW.

Oof, Roger Penske will be furious.

The 2023 Peugeot 9×8 receives a range of adjustments while the Ferrari, Vanwall, Glickenhuas, Isotta Fraschini, Toyota and 2024 Peugeot escape any BoP tweaks.

LMGT3 BoP adjustments

The newly expanded LMGT3 class gets some BoP attention too, as the BMW receives hefty weight penalties at Portimao (24 Kg), Imola (28 Kg), Spa-Francorchamps (11 Kg), Fuji (15 Kg) and Monza (10 Kg).

Likewise, the Ford Mustang is subject to a whopping 28 Kg extra at Le Mans and 12 Kg at Portimao but does enjoy a big reduction at Imola (-20 Kg) and COTA (-19 Kg).

Oddly, the Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 has had its BoP completely overhauled for all tracks, including adjustments to aero performance, maximum stint energy, weight and power, but no exact details have been released on the extent of these.

The McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Corvette LMGT3 cars also face changes, with the ‘Vette and Aston gaining 30 Kg and 27 Kg at Le Mans respectively. The full list of BoP adjustments can be found below.
