The Australian-based V8 Supercars championship, now known as the Repco Supercars, is one of the, if not just outright the, best touring car series on earth.

The cars have a naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine up front, with power going to the rear wheels through a sequential gearbox and a spool diff. And that makes them particularly specialised to drive. Also, they race around the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, which is one of the all-time greatest venues.

That isn’t in the video though, as I take on Queensland Raceway, aka ‘the paperclip’, which is rather less awe-inspiring. Still, the cars are great fun and every car, driver and livery from the 2005 V8 Supercars is faithfully recreated here.

It’s easy to forget that TOCA Race Driver 3 was an official game of this championship back in the day, alongside DTM, it’s just a shame that the BTCC was no longer included by this stage.

Watch episode 14 of my TOCA Race Driver 3 World Tour mode playthrough and reminisce about a time when the Holden vs. Ford rivalry was intense and the nine-fingered Russell Ingall came through to win the championship.

Watch the latest episode to see if I can progress and don’t forget to catch up on the whole series so far.
