WATCH: Jersey eRally Highlights

Ross McGregor

Join us as our resident DiRT Rally 2.0 expert John Munro talks us through the highs and lows of his attempt at the recent Jersey eRally. John was at the wheel of the vehicular equivalent of his favourite clubbing destination and piece of furniture combined: the SEAT Ibiza Kit Car.

The field was split into four classes; Formula 2 Kit Cars, R5, Mitsubishi Evo X and the venerable Mk 2 Escort, and featured the likes of real-life rallying superstars such as triple British champion Matt Edwards, and Swedish championship frontrunner Mattias Adielsson. Not only were real rally drivers represented, but also top esports rally stars too, and one of those – Nicoló Ardizzone – went on to take his second successive Jersey eRally win by just 0.7s.

The rally was a competitive affair, but also helped raise over £1,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal and RNLI Jersey, so even if you managed to bin it off a Hinkelstein on Stage 1 at least you had the knowledge you’d done something positive!

So, have a watch and check out how John got on through the challenging German stages. Did he hit a Hinkelstein? Did he listen to Phil Mills? Did he produce some flamboyant driving skills that ended up with a hefty repair bill from SEAT? Only one way to find out!
