The sixth round of the GT Pro Series, Season 3, was at The Brickyard yesterday and was the championship decider.
One qualifying session and two races would decide the overall victor, with several drivers going into the evening with a chance of winning thanks to the success ballast and reverse grid rules. Mercifully, the weather stayed dry for the final showdown.
The racing was tense in the initial stages, as no one wanted to make a drastic move that would take them out of the running, especially with the championship on the line. But, things started to loosen up as the round progressed, with Jan von der Heyde taking the crown by just a scant two points.
Don’t forget that the supporting GT Challenge Series still has two rounds left to run, with those drivers competing for the chance to be promoted into the next GT Pro season.
