The latest update to F1 22’s driver ratings has just been published yesterday (26th September 2022) with EA SPORTS deciding Max Verstappen deserves to extend his overall rating advantage over six-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton.
EA SPORTS calls on the help of F1 paddock commentators David Croft and Alex Jacques, plus Mercedes AMG Petronas simulator driver and Sky Sports analyst Anthony Davidson to determine F1 22’s driver ratings, with driver’s recent performances also adding weight to the argument.
Four ratings combine to dictate a driver’s final, overall Rating (RTG), with Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Pace all considered. Thanks to his recent superlative performances, Verstappen increases his RTG to 96, two ahead of the unchanged Hamilton on 94.
Other significant movers include Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN’s Zhou Guanyu, whose RTG has increased by three points to 78 thanks to some impressive performances against his very experienced teammate Valterri Bottas (who conversely drops three points to 83).
Moving in the opposite direction is Daniel Ricciardo, whose miserable spell at McLaren continues, seeing his RTG slip by two points to 82. Williams Racing’s outgoing Nicholas Latifi also drops two points to 67 RTG, cementing his position at the bottom of F1 22’s ratings table.
Do you think Verstappen’s increasingly secure position at the top of F1 22’s driver ratings table is fair? Can the Dutchman win the 2022 championship this weekend in Singapore? Let us know in the comments below.
