VCO Simmy Awards: Vote for the best esports drivers and teams of 2022 now!

The public nomination phase for the third annual VCO Simmy Awards has passed and the candidates across 10 of the 11 categories have been revealed.

VCO – or Virtual Competition Organisation – is one of the biggest esports organisers and broadcasters in sim racing and its Simmy Awards is a celebration of those teams, drivers, photographers, organisers, livery designers, content creators and commentators who have helped elevate sim racing into the mainstream.

The award winners will be decided jointly by a public vote and the opinions of a select group of sim racing experts listed below:

  • Luca Munro (Overtake.gg)
  • Tom Harrison-Lord (Traxion.GG)
  • Nathan Quinn (THE RACE)
  • David Perel (The Sim Grid)
  • Steve Worrell (Sim Racing GP)
  • Tom Bunten (Grid Finder)

The most coveted category is undoubtedly ‘Best Esports Racer’, with last year’s winner Josh Rogers going up against James Baldwin, Lucas Blakely, Enzo Bonito and Casey Kirwan

Elsewhere, there are notable nominations for teams, drivers and events such as Team Redline, Jimmy Broadbent and the Le Mans Virtual Series. And in the ‘Best Photography’ section, Traxion.GG’s very own Justin Melillo picks up a nomination. Best of luck Justin!

The sim racing community can cast its vote by visiting VCO’s Twitter feed. Voting closes on the 28th of November

A separate ‘Hall of Famer’ category will also be decided based on the sim racing community’s nominations. All the winners will be announced during a VCO Simmy Awards broadcast on the VCO Esports YouTube channel on the 26th of December, 8:00 pm CET / 7:00 pm BST / 2:00 pm ET.
