F-Zero 99, the spin-off battle royale racing game based on the Nintendo Switch Online version of the original F-Zero, has been updated today (19th October 2023) and includes three new tracks.
The free-to-play (for subscribers) reimagination of the 1990 classic has been a surprise hit for the Japanese gaming giant, with its raucous 99-player ‘last-man-standing’ action proving popular with Nintendo Switch players.
The free update also includes a new King League for Grand Prix mode, adding the following three new tracks which are touted as the steepest challenge yet:
- Mute City III
- Fire Field (Grand Prix only)
- Red Canyon II (Pro Tracks and Mini Prix only)
Nintendo states that these will be the ‘final new tracks’ for the game. It follows the addition of five further tracks for Queen League in September.
Conversely, Nintendo also stipulated its plan to release further updates for F-Zero 99 in future, indicating to us that any new patches could include new game modes, new craft or standard bug fixes.
F-Zero 99’s new update is available to play for free for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Have you been enjoying F-Zero 99? Let us know in the comments below.
