GT Pro Season 3 coming to Traxion

One of the most renowned and respected professional esports championships will be broadcast live, right here, on Traxion. rFactor 2’s GT Pro Series will be shown exclusively live on via our YouTube channel and Facebook page, starting at 19:00 CET / 18:00 GMT / 13:00 EST / 10:00 PST on 8th March 2021.

The top rFactor 2 pros will be racing in GT3 class machinery for a share of a healthy €18,000/$21,700 prize pool. They will be putting it all on the line in Season 3 of the championship across six rounds.

The venue list is packed with incredible circuits, some of the best real-life locations on earth. Imola, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone GP, Nürburgring GP (no chicane), Sebring and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are all featured.

Erhan Jajovski was champion in Season 1 and 2 for Romain Grosjean’s R8G eSports team, the professional esports driver also currently leading the way in Formula E: Accelerate. Alongside R8G Esports, the series features top teams like Redline, Williams, Mahle, Triple A, Zansho and more.

The GT Pro Series witnesses the top sim racing talent from around the world duking it out in closely matched races. At the end of each season, some drivers may be relegated from the Pro Series, and some from the accompanying GT Challenge Series are promoted into the top league. It means that even those near the bottom of the Pro championship table have something to fight for.

Races take place every other Monday, with a practice session, Qualifying, a 15-minute Sprint Race and a 45-minute Main Race. The main race grid is determined by the finishing positions of the sprint race but the top-10 are reversed. There is one drop score week per season to be deleted for each competitor.

The rFactor 2 simulation recently updated its GT3 class Balance of Performance in time for the next GT Pro Series season, but the BoP will be reviewed after every second race just in case.

Previously, the Callaway Corvette C7 was popular amongst Season 2 competitors, due to what they believed was favourable BoP. The recent changes to the performance of the GT3 vehicles should help with a more varied grid.

In addition, there is a car draft for those taking part on 1st March 2021 – again, to help deliver a mix of vehicles on track. Reminiscent of Fantasy Premier League Draft or the NFL Draft, each driver gets two minutes to pick a GT3 steed, but each pick of the same GT3 car gets 10kg of weight ballast weight added – with a 40kg maximum.
