An Intel Core i7-13700 and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (VRAM 8GB) or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060i are recommended for higher settings.

Expected to last around four months, the initial early access release will feature roughly half of the full game’s story mode, with over 200 rival characters to race and 50 tuneable cars from manufacturers such as Nissan, Toyota and Mazda. Channelling the spirit of the original series, players will engage in head-to-head battles across 180 kilometres (111 miles) of Tokyo’s Shuto Expressway.

For now, the Tokyo Xtreme Racer reboot is only slated for PC. However, Genki, which has helmed the series since it began in 1994, has hinted it may come to other platforms in the future.

“The reason we chose PC first was because we believe it will allow the most ease of access to our fans all over the world as well as allow us to tweak and improve the game as quickly as we can,” the Japanese developer said in a statement.
