Thrustmaster reveals T248 variant for Xbox players

With the new entry-level all-in-one steering wheel kit from Thrustmaster, the T248, already on sale for those using a PS4 or PS5, now is the turn of an Xbox version.

The T248 went on sale for Europe, the Middle East and North America in late October, but with PlayStation dedicated buttons. Now we know one adorned with Xbox buttons and the necessary chipset to work on Microsoft devices is on the way too.

Promising functionality on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, just like the existing model, it will also work on PC.

The PlayStation T248 model is priced at £299.99 / €349.99 / $399.99 and uses a ‘Hybrid Drive’ system that combines gear and belt-driven technologies. There is a built-in digital display, that even allows you to change the force feedback strength on the fly and was launched alongside a set of new adjustable T3PM pedals.

The wheel base, wheel rim and pedal set is all included for that price – clearly positioning this as an entry-level sim racing device.

In our review, we said: “If you like how it looks, want to work those arms playing DiRT Rally 2.0, and have a need to bling up your desk a little, the T248 is the way to go.”

Pricing and availability for the Xbox-specific SKU are not yet known, however, more information will be revealed on 2nd December 2021.
