As the rear-engined pin-up celebrates its diamond anniversary, Porsche design creates a limited-run collection including a snazzy gaming chair.

Recaro, synonymous with road and race-going seats. Porsche, synonymous with fast cars. Put the two together to create something for video games and you end up with this, the RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Pepita Limited Edition.

Following on from the Exo Platinum seat in January, where only 911 units were produced, this new variant helps celebrate 60 years of the popular sportscar model. It also includes a ‘5D’ armrest, an aluminium base and it’s produced in Germany.

The shape looks to be identical to the earlier design, including an embroidered Porsche Crest upon the headrest. However, the materials and colours used are fresh.

The outer edges are black, while the centre is the distinctive Porsche houndstooth fabric with a white and black chequered look. This particular is available on select, customised, real-world Porsche models such as the Heritage Design Package Classic for the current 992-generation 911. It harks back to models in the company’s history.

The Porsche 911 S/T also celebrates 60 years of the model

Strangely, this isn’t the standard-fit seat material for the 911 S/T, the limited-run car that also celebrates 60 years of the model. Only 1,963 will be built, featuring the 911 GT3 RS’s engine, but minus the aggressive aerodynamic kit and uses a manual gearbox instead of a PDK.

The RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Pepita Limited Edition will be available from 15th October for $2,375.
