Porsche launches gaming chair in partnership with Recaro

Porsche has teamed up with German seat manufacturer Recaro to create a unique motorsport-inspired gaming chair.

The Recaro × Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition will be restricted to just 911 units – tying in, of course, of the Porsche 911 sportscar – and was launched during the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual. As it happens, it was the final round of the 2022-23 Le Mans Virtual Series, won by the Porsche Coanda team.

Recaro × Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition

It’s based on the existing RECARO Exo Platinum seat, which means an aluminium base, adjustable 5D armrest with aluminium support, copolymer-reinforced castors and an integrated anti-submarining seat ramp.

Then there are the Porsche elements, which include the brand’s crest embroidered on the headrest in the same location as a road-going Zuffenhausen-produced car. The colour scheme is the same as Porsche Motorsport’s palette and was designed by Studio F.A. Porsche.

Even though it’s a gaming chair, and not an out-and-out racing seat for a cockpit or sim rig, it still looks suitable for sim racing, perhaps paired with a wheel stand such as the Trak Racer FS3 or Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0.

The Recaro and Porsche collaboration will be made in Germany and is available to pre-order from Porsche Design for $2,499.
