The DTM Esports Championship Shootouts start today

Following the announcement that the DTM Esports Championship powered by MediaMarkt will be returning within RaceRoom in 2022, the first of two Shootout events will happen later today (6th January).

The qualification process began recently on the popular sim racing platform, and now the top drivers from the first of two Leaderboard Challenges shall take part in a race around the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. From the two Shootout events, 26 top drivers for the season ahead will be decided based on a points-earning system.

Drivers successfully qualified for the first Shootout include independent driver Isaac Price, Kevin Siggy, REMUS GT3 Champion Jack Keithley, Gianmarco Fiduci, Florian Hasse and reigning champion Moritz Löhner.

A further three championship grid slots will be filled by a MediaMarkt boot camp. The second Leaderboard Challenge is now open for participation, ahead of the second Shoout on 20th January at the Hockenheimring.

Over 500 drivers entered for the first Shootout – so watch live today on the DTM and RaceRoom YouTube channels to see who was the fastest overall and puts themselves in with a chance of championship competition when the series starts in February.
