Next week sees the launch of The Crew Motorfest Season 9, which promises to be one of the most seismic updates yet. Launching on 4th March, the next season will add an elaborate track creator, a new stunt-filled island and a NASCAR racing playlist.
A new trailer provides a closer look at the new playlist dubbed ‘NASCAR Motorfest Tour.’ You play as a rookie driver in the fictional Henson Racing team, with a high-stakes story that sees you form a rivalry with another racer who “stands in his way.”
Forming part of the new Playground Island in Season 9, a speedway circuit on the Hawaiian island of Kaho‘olawe is showcased in the trailer, along with the Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Ford Mustang Dark Horse and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Toyota Camry XSE from the Cup Series.
Notably, The Crew Motorfest will be the only game to feature real-world cars, teams and drivers from the series outside of iRacing’s official NASCAR games, with Kyle Larson’s No. 5 Camaro ZL1 shown in its blue-and-white Hendrick Motorsports livery among other Cup Series cars.
The playlist will seemingly feature official NASCAR rules and regulations, including warm-up laps and pit stops that incentivise race strategies.
Ivory Tower has overhauled the physics specifically for NASCAR racing in The Crew Motorfest. Car damage also appears to be enhanced in the numerous spectacular crashes shown in the trailer.
In addition to the NASCAR-themed playlist, Season 9 will introduce TrackForge, a powerful tool that lets players create their own circuits and share them with others. It will also add a new environment to explore, with the Playground Island featuring Hot Wheels-style loops and magnetic roads alongside the NASCAR circuit.
After next week’s update, Season 9 will add a separate playlist featuring RC cars between March and July.
