The Crew stirred controversy when the servers were taken offline last year, rendering the game unplayable. This sparked backlash from the community, prompting a group of modders to emulate the servers and make the original game playable offline again in ‘The Crew Unlimited project.’
In response, Ubisoft Ivory Tower pledged to add offline modes for The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest.
In an update posted in April this year, the French studio announced it was aiming to have The Crew 2’s offline mode ready before the end of 2025. Thankfully, the studio has delivered on this promise.

During the latest Showcase presentation, Ivory Tower announced that The Crew 2 is playable offline as of today (16th October), with a new ‘Hybrid Mode’ allowing players to switch between online and offline play.
When booting the game while connected to the internet, players will be prompted to play online or offline, with separate saves for each mode. Progression can be transferred into the offline mode.
However, some features can’t be accessed offline. These include vehicle bundles, vanity items and Far & Beyond shop purchases with Crew Credits, Live Summits, the Race Creator and Livery Editor. Custom liveries can’t be transferred offline, and some trophies and achievements that require an online connection are no longer obtainable.

Glad to learn about The Crew 2 getting an offline mode and also an upcoming one for Motorfest. Hopefully, Gran Turismo 7 can wake up and make one for their racer too. Just make separate garages for Online and Offline. simple. no cheating issues if that is what they fear.
