Sim racing outfit Team Redline has formally partnered with Red Bull Racing Esports, it was announced today (31st of October 2023). The deal will see Redline preside over the Formula 1 team’s sim racing activities as part of a ‘multi-year’ contract,
The fruits of the relationship – characterised as an ‘elite performance partnership’ – is set for its competitive debut in this season’s F1 Esports Series Pro championship, and includes a name change to Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing to reflect the behind-the-scenes updates.
Red Bull Sim Racing’s current lineup of drivers and content creators will be retained, with a bespoke Red Bull Sim Racing performance facility also created at Team Redline’s headquarters, helping nurture the team’s next generation of professional sim racers.
Team Redline, which operates under three-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen’s Verstappen.com concern, has enjoyed great success recently, coming out on top of the ESL R1 teams’ championship, as well as winning the prestigious 24 Hours of Virtual Le Mans race and Porsche TAG HEUR Esports Supercup series.
“This is an exciting new challenge for the Team, having already built a good relationship with Red Bull under Verstappen.com Racing – this seemed like the logical next step for us to collaboratively take. Team Redline is excited for this new challenge and is looking forward to getting to work,” said Team Redline Director Atze Kerkhof.
