It’s been a while since our last SnowRunner update from Focus Home Interactive. On Tuesday, we were treated to some excellent news regarding the first season included in the Year 2 Pass.
Season 5: Build & Dispatch is the first big update scheduled for the second year of new content. Rostov Oblast is the new region with two new maps. These areas are “hill-type maps with mild slopes” and “host one of the industrial strongholds of southern Russia.”
The seasonal update also includes two new TATRA vehicles, the TATRA FORCE and TATRA PHOENIX. One of the main objectives in the season is to rebuild and restore a TATRA factory, and this will need to be accomplished to unlock the new vehicular content.
The trailer also previews what’s in store for Season 6: Haul & Hustle as well as Season 7: Compete & Conquer. Season 8: New Expansion is now Season 8: Expansion 2 in this video. Per the video, it will be the most ambitious content pack yet. I can’t wait!
Also in the details are some other neat tidbits related to the upcoming content. Each new planned phase of content will also come with free new content. Cosmetics, New Game+, Immersive Mode and Crossplay between all platforms are on the horizon. Crossplay comes first on PC across Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store when Season 5 goes live on 9th September.
All in all, SnowRunner continues to knock it out of the park. The crossplay will be a welcomed feature, personally, as that will allow for more of my buddies to get in on some of my random treks. What are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments!
