Say hello to Vroom!, a breath-taking battle royale car game

Developed solely by Adam Bernath of iGaming Studio, Vroom! is a new take on the driving game, fusing elements of Trackmania and Fall Guys and placing them within a cutesy toy vehicle world.

The game uses the Unreal Engine 5 in Early Access form, and from this reveal trailer, the visuals are out of this world. That also means that this will be a next-gen only title, arriving on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series sometime in 2022.

“Its planned release date is connected to the production-ready Unreal Engine 5 release date,” explains Adam.

“I do plan to build a small team to help me finish the game for release, which I hope will happen very soon.”

The title will utilise a Battle Royale gameplay mechanic, with over 60 online players trying to race to the finish of a level by overcoming obstacles across multiple rounds.

“At release [the focus is] just the battle royale race, but plans are to further expand it soon after with other game modes like couch co-op, squad mode etc. – I will listen to the community, if something is requested from a lot of people, I will add it to the game.”

Vroom! gameplay

The environment so far looks to be a children’s playroom, littered with toys that act as hindrances to level completion.

Clearly, development is relatively early on, but the aesthetic is captivating. It’s as if Micro Machines was in full 3D and third person, then mixed together with a game mode firmly in the 2020s zeitgeist. We’ll hopefully have more about Vroom! later next year. But for now, watch the trailer above and let us know in the comments below what you think.
