Fresh off the back of a disappointing Esports World Cup campaign, where it garnered a less-than-normal peak viewership of less than 100,000, a new season of Rocket League is set to be released.

The slightly spooky Urban Legends-themed season, which begins on the 4th of September, introduces the BMW 1 Series Car Body, with its slightly fancier RLE alternative unlocked by levelling up.

The BMWs use the Octane hitbox and will be available for cross-ownership between Rocket League and Fortnite at a later date, much like the recent Tesla Cybertruck release.

As well as this, a chilling Chupacabra Topper, a scary Sasquatch Print Wheels and a maleficent Mothman Decal can also be collected if players purchase Season 16’s Rocket Pass Premium subscription.

Items like the Creepshow Dominus Decal, Eyescore Goal Explosion, Mothman Antenna, Ghoulpost Antenna and Darker Disc Wheels will also be available, alongside a special BMW 1 Series Decal based on the winning entry from the Rocket League x BMW Decal Contest.

As if this brand of spookiness isn’t enough, an all-new Arena will be added, called the Drift Woods, very much preparing players for the onset of Halloween next month with its foreboding foggy outlook. In total, there are over 70 reward tiers in Season 16 across both free and Premium Rocket League plans.

A new camera angle will also be implemented for Season 16, tracking smoothly from the point where your car is destroyed to its respawn destination.
