After a minor delay, RoadCraft’s 2.0 update has finally dropped on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Saber Interactive has added a slew of new features and content in 2.0, with a much-requested photo mode headlining. The studio has listened to customer feedback and also added a new manual engine start feature, more steering wheel support and many other quality of life improvements.
And the best part about the new update? It’s free!
Check out a more detailed breakdown below.
Photo mode
Playing through RoadCraft, we were left frustrated by the lack of a photo mode (especially when trying to grab some original screenshots to go along with our tips and tricks guide and review).
We felt that the game’s ‘stonkingly beautiful’ visuals deserved a bespoke photo mode, and Saber has duly delivered.
Players can adjust field of view and depth of field settings to create the right blend of background blur to make their subjects pop, with many users reporting it as an improvement on Snowrunner’s photo mode.
New vehicles
Four new vehicles have been added to the game, too:
- SAR Nota Allegro
- SAR Step 39331 “Pike”
- SAR Mule T1
- Tuz 119 “Lynx” with trailer

Unfortunately, these vehicles don’t offer anything radically different to RoadCraft’s incumbent lineup, but do at least come with heavy-duty winches to help get you out of a tight spot.
Saber has also implemented a few handy vehicle-related fixes to make traversing its eight giant maps an easier proposition, with players now able to secure and unsecure vehicles while transporting them on trailers.
A manual engine on/off switch has also been implemented for players looking for an extra bit of immersion (hold the handbrake button to use this function), with map markers now able to be placed using one click (no more radial menu, whoop!).
The Kronenwerk L-34’s Cargo Blade can now be operated as a sand flattener, too, while roller-type vehicles can now have their rolling function switched on or off manually.

AI vehicle fixes
For many, RoadCraft’s AI vehicles were a real low point of the game, with their lack of street smarts foiling many a delivery.
With 2.0, issues like AI incorrectly stopping when driving towards other computer-controlled vehicles, getting stuck in garages and randomly getting stuck in terrain should be alleviated. Should.
Console mods no longer require subscriptions
Console players left frustrated by not being able to access mods in RoadCraft will be pleased to know that connecting to PROS/Mod Browser no longer requires a Game Pass of PS+ subscription.
Steering wheel support
More steering wheels are natively supported by RoadCraft post-update, with the Hori Racing Wheel Apex on PC, Xbox and PS5 now supported. The Fanatec GT DD Pro and CSL Elite are also supported on PC and PS5, while the Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider wheel gets its own in-game preset.
It may be a while before more specialised PC wheelbases gain native support, however.

Bug fixes and quality of life improvements
Saber has had a look at all the grey clouds in-game and decided it prefers nice weather, with the chances of seeing rain in RoadCraft reduced significantly, which should help your disaster relief efforts considerably…
Innumerable other bug fixes and small quality of life adjustments have also been made in RoadCraft’s v2.0 update, with the full changelog listed below.
