Back in February, Rennsport unveiled an extensive roadmap previewing plans for upcoming DLC, a permanent price cut and AI improvements.

Originally planned for March, this year’s first update has been put on hold after the developer parted ways with Nacon, which published the console versions.

In a community post, developer Competition Company reaffirmed that the next update has a “targeted” release, but an exact date is yet to be confirmed.

As part of the update, Rennsport’s Deluxe Edition will receive a price cut. With a 45% discount, this edition will be reduced to €38.49. It bundles every paid content pack until September, including the Endurance Classics Part 1 and Touring Classics Part 1.

Due to “strict cooldown periods between price changes” on digital storefronts, the Standard Edition will remain full price during the Deluxe Edition’s discount period. However, it will receive a 50% discount for 14 days soon after the cooldown period.

“Storefront algorithms actively highlight discounted titles,” the developer explained. “We need Rennsport to remain visible everywhere, and this rotating structure continuously exposes the game to new drivers.

“The goal is long-term stability and a growing community.”

Furthermore, the developer is aiming to deploy the “first iteration” of Rennsport’s reworked AI alongside the next update. When it launched last year, the AI opponent’s erratic behaviour was one of the racing simulation’s most glaring issues.

In response, Competition Company says it has “stripped out” the existing architecture and “rebuilt it from the ground up.”

Rennsport’s next major update delayed to May as studio becomes self-published

Beyond the AI improvements, the developer is preparing to implement official mod support for Rennsport, with more details to be revealed later.

“We know the community demands it,” the developer wrote. “This requires a significant investment of time and resources, and to ensure it functions securely across the board, it must be engineered correctly.”

Meanwhile, the Endurance Classics Part 1 DLC is also targeting a May release. It will add the Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes-Benz CLK LM, Porsche 956, Peugeot 9X9 EVO and Circuit de la Sarthe.
