Rennsport to get a resolution boost on PS5 Pro

Rennsport’s console specs have been revealed, with PlayStation 5 Pro users able to run the game in native 4K.

Opinion: Why time is running out for Rennsport

More details have emerged about Rennsport’s forthcoming v1.0 release and the performance players can expect to see on its console editions.

Diving straight into the details, the game will run at an upscaled 4K resolution at 60 fps on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

So far, so predictable, given that most PS5 games do not run in native 4K.

For the Xbox Series S, however, the game can still be upscaled to 4K (the Series S outputs at 1440p resolution as standard) but will run at a maximum of 40 fps.

For those lucky enough to own a PlayStation 5 Pro, though, Rennsport will run natively at 4K, something most PC players will be able to enjoy with an adequately specced machine.

Rennsport will also use the same physics engine across both PC and console editions, with the PS5’s adaptive triggers being utilised during gameplay.

Will Rennsport have VR?

Apparently, yes. Although VR has not been confirmed for the v1.0 release, Rennsport has confirmed it is being evaluated.
“We still want to enable VR, but right now the focus is on creating the launch, making sure we can launch Rennsport on PC and consoles,” states Creative Director Kim Orremark. “After that, we have a plan to pick up the VR work we started. We also now have the opportunity on PlayStation for PlayStation VR [PS VR2 headsets], so we’re going to go into that with renewed effort,” he concluded.

Opinion: Why time is running out for Rennsport

“VR will be a bigger thing, which we would like to bring back to Rennsport when we are able to have it on console and PC,” commented Competition Company CEO Morris Hebecker.
