In what’s billed as not an open beta or form of early access, Project Motor Racing’s feedback system – the Factory Driver Program – looks to be opening up to more players soon.
It utilises an online portal that breaks down specific car testing challenges set by the Straight 4 Studios development team.
Then, it has areas to deliver longer, qualitative feedback, but also a quicker and more accessible Likert scale system for snappy, easy-to-interpret sentiment for the creators. These can be up to 50 quick questions across five different categories.
Weekly build updates are promised. Applications will “open soon,” according to a new social media post by the game. Those selected will be done so based on several factors, including their abilities in other racing games, unlike a random beta key drop or a public early access release.
“Where the magic happens, of course, is inside our developer control,” said Project Motor Racing’s Game Design Director, Austin Ogonoski, to Traxion recently.
“We can score the responses for every single question and receive an average rating for each individual trait of each individual car.
“For example, our handling team signs in at 8:30 am, and yesterday they just launched a new build of the Audi R8. The first thing they see is that a bunch of people didn’t rate the default setup highly, there’s a brake bias sensitivity issue, but the tyre pressures were ideal.

“They know this without having to read the forums or watch a YouTube video.
“Instead of waiting six months for a car to be updated, we can potentially start chasing all these fixes in an afternoon.”
There are set to be over 70 vehicles from launch in November, with more to be added via a DLC season pass and a user-generated content hub.
