Rennsport is steadily moving toward its v1.0 release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and, thanks to the latest edition of Rennsport’s ‘Radio Check’ vlog, we now know the identity of the sim’s first official DLC car.

The 1983 Porsche 956 will make its debut in December 2025 as part of the ‘Endurance Classics Part 1’ DLC, according to Marco Ujhasi, CEO and co-founder of Rennsport, alongside other unknown historic sports cars.

Rennsport’s DLC packs will be further bolstered by the appearance of at least three classic DTM cars in the ‘Touring Classics Part 1’ DLC pack, due in early 2026.

The reveal occurred in Germany’s Nationales Auto Museum, where we were informed that Rennsport staff scanned a number of historically important race cars with a nod towards future, paid-for content.

The 956 in question was apparently shared by five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell and Stefan Bellof for most of the 1983 World Sportscar Championship, a season in which they won three races. The 956 is also the car where Bellof famously claimed the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record, which stood for an astonishing 35 years.

It’s a lap considered to be one of the greatest, and scariest, of all time.

The Rennsport team then took a walk down memory lane by commenting on several of the museum’s exhibits, centring on five historic DTM cars.

Allan McNish’s 2005 Audi A4 (replete with McNish’s ‘Start F*ck-Up’ switch!) and Bernd Schneider’s all-conquering 2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK were first up, but the following three older cars may spark the interest of motorsport enthusiasts more.

Nicola Larini’s 1994 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI, Klaus Ludwig’s Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II and the 1986 BMW M3 E30 of Roberto Ravaglia would surely be popular additions to Rennsport, but Competition Company CEO Morris Hebecker confirmed that only three of the five would arrive in the Touring Classics Part 1 DLC (but who’s to say the other two cars won’t arrive at a later date?!).

Both DLC packs will be included in Rennsport’s Deluxe Version when it finally arrives in ‘Q4 2025’, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Current Diamond Founder’s Pack owners on PC will gain the Deluxe Edition of the game when it releases into v1.0.
