Forza Motorsport celebrated its first birthday on the 10th of October, with Turn 10 Studios in reflective mode.
Criticised for numerous bugs, washed-out visuals, low-detail car models and a confusing in-game economy upon release, Turn 10 has moved to address these issues in each monthly game update.
Multi-class racing, Spectate mode, free tracks, free cars and car progression tweaks have gone some way to turning the tide for FM, with more improvements slated to appear in the game’s next update, detailed below.
Forza Motorsport Update 13
Three free Mustangs will headline FM’s Update 13: the 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR, 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR and 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR will be available in the Showroom when the update drops on the 16th of October at 4:00 PM PT (or Thursday 17th of October at 12:00 AM UTC). This marks the start of FM’s Mustang Month.
Furthermore, Car Pass holders will obtain the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, available to those who own the Forza Motorsport Car Pass, Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition or Premium Add-Ons Bundle.
These new cars will be released alongside the start of Mustang Month content on Wednesday, October 16 at 4:00 PM PT (or Thursday, October 17 at 12:00 AM UTC).
Drift Mode will also make its debut in FM, allowing players to put their Mustangs to good use (thankfully there are no crowds in-game). Update 13 also sees the much-vaunted return of the Sunset Peninsula track, after its last appearance in Forza Motorsport 4.
Turn10 has also promised more Practice and Qualifying options for Private Multiplayer races, as well as upgrades to the game’s Race Regulations.
