There hasn’t been too much to announce as far as iRacing‘s 2022 Season 3 just yet. We know the build is set to release on Tuesday 7th June, less than a week away now, and the only thing before today that we definitely know is coming is Sandown. There are other possible pieces of content that are speculated, but nothing else confirmed at the time of this posting.

I figure things will pick up quickly, however, as the season hurls towards us. On Thursday, iRacing unveiled that there will be more updates coming to the NASCAR NEXT Gen vehicles on the service. The New Damage Model will be implemented on all three cars – the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the Ford Mustang and the Toyota Camry.

The last time iRacing implemented NDM on the top level stock cars in 2020, the Gen 6 back then, it didn’t work out too well. They did eventually remove it and the Gen 6, as well as all of the other current NASCAR vehicles, haven’t had NDM since.

The NEXT Gen will be the first current NASCAR stock car to implement it again since then. In the NASCAR stables, it joins the 1987 cars and the ARCA Menards Chevy Impala with having the NDM. The tweet merely states that it’s coming for the NEXT Gen cars. No word yet for the other NASCAR vehicles.
