NASCAR 26 cross-platform multiplayer

While the game cover art, which features reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, was the centre of attention for the initial NASCAR 26 game unveil, two key features have been confirmed.

The first being the new circuit for the premier stock car racing class, Qualcomm Circuit at Naval Base Coronado, will be included. This is to be expected, as NASCAR game steward, iRacing, has already recreated the street course and released it for its primary PC simulation platform.

Traxion confirmed with iRacing that the track will be base content for the upcoming game, and not paid DLC.

Perhaps more pertinent, for some, is that the online multiplayer will be cross-platform this time.

Last year’s NASCAR 25 did offer the creation of lobbies and 40-car grids, but otherwise, the network-connected play was rudimentary in some respects compared to contemporary motorsport games. iRacing also confirmed the cross-platform feature to Traxion.

Further features will be unveiled at a later date, ahead of a September release for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
