After a somewhat inauspicious start, yet anotherNASCAR 21: Ignition update is now available across PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
This time, the big takeaway is the ability to use your steering wheel peripheral to navigate the menus if you’re using one of the Logitech or Thrustmaster wheels listed below – up until this point, a gamepad was required to set the game up when your wheel was in use.
If, however, you aren’t using a wheel, controller vibration has been added for greater feedback and options are now available to alter throttle sensitivity through the use of a saturation slider.
Elsewhere, several changes have been made to AI behaviour when it comes to pitroad visits and caution periods. Sometimes, the computer-controlled rivals would continue to crash into an incident after yellow flags have been displayed, but this is said to be rectified.
Players where were being prevented from pitting at Daytona, or at Road America after qualifying on pole position, will be relieved to hear these two maladies should be amended. Similarly, the correct position on the grid should now apply to the player’s car after simulating qualifying.
In the career, car performance will now step up should you sign for a stronger team, too – a very welcome addition.
There are several other tweaks to online multiplayer, the paintbooth and replays, with the full changelog down below. We’ll keep you updated as and when further changes are implemented.
