Low Fuel Motorsport is working on iRacing event implementation, it has announced.
The Boris Schalk-founded enterprise is currently best known for the organisation of sim racing events that utilise Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione.
It provides a ranking system and stat comparison that neither title includes natively, leading to a vibrant community of multiplayer racers.
Previously, LFM had also supported rFactor 2, but that option disappeared when Motorsport Games and Studio 397 implemented its own Race Control service – now also seen within Le Mans Ultimate.
It is believed that LFM will host events using iRacing, although the type still needs to be clarified. It will not try to compete with the US-headquartered simulation’s existing daily/scheduled race system.
“We will not do daily racing in iRacing as it is a) not possible with their server structure and b) they have that themselves,” said Schalk
“What we will do, as in the announcement graphic: Events.”
The new LFM feature is expected “soon” with the ability to add existing iRacing IDs into LFM from tomorrow, 23rd September 2024.
The team is also working on Automobilista 2 support, with an upcoming version 1.6 update expected to help third-party race providers.
