Early Access World Endurance Championship simulator Le Mans Ultimate will soon be gifting players a free McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, it was revealed today.
Last month, the sim’s much-anticipated LMGT3 class was teased, with audio clips of the BMW M4 GT3 and Corvette Z06 GT3.R released.
Just over a week ago, real-world driver and popular sim racing streamer James Baldwin was given early access to the new McLaren, praising its overall feel.
LMGT3s differ slightly from the GT3 cars found in iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione, for example, as they follow a different set of Balance of Performance calculations, presumably helping the aged Lexus RC F maintain competitiveness with the very latest machinery from Ferrari, Porsche et al.
The McLaren is one of two LMGT3 cars set to be released to LMU players for free, with the identity of the other still to be revealed.
LMU’s third DLC pack is set for release on the 10th of December and will include three LMGT3 cars and one track, which will be a choice between the Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos) and the Losail International Circuit (Qatar).
Further details are expected tomorrow, 3rd December 2024 at 2 pm UTC.
It is hoped LMU’s four DLC packs can go some way to alleviate the financial difficulties of the parent company, Motorsport Games, while the business actively seeks a merger or buyer.
