A deluge of new content is expected throughout 2024 for PC driving simulator Automibilista 2, thanks in part to a partnership with the International Motor Sports Association alongside a spate of platform refinements.
The next significant update, version 1.6, was recently touted by its creators as its “biggest update yet”.
Expected to launch within a matter of “weeks”, further content and tweaks have been previewed today, 26th June 2024.
Once again, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is seen in some of the images – expected to be part of an IMSA-related paid DLC pack, this was announced at the start of the month.
Newly shown, however, is the latest Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R (featured image, top). This mid-engine racer debuted this season, replacing the C8 GTE variant in the real world. It made its virtual debut three weeks ago for iRacing and is also expected to be added to Le Mans Ultimate.
The Reiza Studios-created sim does not currently feature official LMP2 machinery. It does feature some prototypes, such as GTP, some fictional creations and models like the Ginetta G57 P2. However, the Oreca 07 is missing, although yet another image affirms that model’s inclusion.
A mix of free and premium content is expected. It is not yet clear which category the Corvette and Oreca fall into.
Alongside additional content, the Brazilian development team is promising a “complete overhaul” of its environment lighting properties. These will be in combination with updated vehicle materials and shader revisions resulting in “considerably upgraded visuals.”
Towards the end of last week, third-party ranked multiplayer provider Low Fuel Motorsport confirmed that it was working with Reiza on Automobilista 2 compatibility. The studio then followed up with a clarification that the partnership was not mutually exclusive.
